We are immensely proud to confirm Selachii has been shortlisted for ABS of the Year award at the 2017/18 Modern Law Awards.
While we are obviously anxiously awaiting the Judge’s final decision, we view making the shortlist not only as a significant achievement for us but also a very public recognition of how far the legal industry has come.
Our nomination was based on a very simple philosophy. We want to use the possibilities offered by ABS to combine the very different legal and business skills of our two founding partners to create a firm that will serve our clients better by being leaner and more focused than a traditional law firm could ever be.
Since we opened our doors in 2012 we’ve worked hard to stay as trim and as flexible as possible. We keep our headcount to a minimum and maximise our use of technology and new business practices so we can always respond immediately to a client’s call for help in the most efficient and cost-effective way.
We have also built on our early successes in resolving disputes involving cryptocurrency to become the only law firm in Europe to specialise in cryptocurrency and the technology that underpins it.
As a result we are now recognised as one of the world’s foremost experts on bitcoin, the blockchain and smart contracts and have a client list that includes the international blue chip companies, banks and entrepreneurs who recognise cryptocurrency is likely to shape the future of international commerce.
Of course niche or sector specialism isn’t something new for law firms. However, given the uncertainty and nervousness around something as innovative as cryptocurrency, we strongly believe a traditional partnership structure would never have allowed us to provide so much support to so many clients in this area this quickly.
We have built our ABS on the conviction that if clients are to enjoy the best legal advice, the best service delivery and the best value for money, their lawyers have to operate under a structure that keeps cost to minimum and the quality and relevance of advice to a maximum … fingers crossed the judges feel the same on the 18th January!
