Parliament’s Treasury Committee has launched a new inquiry into digital currencies and distributed ledger technology. 

The European Commission recently held a roundtable discussion on cryptocurrencies, which was attended by representatives of the European Central Bank, the Financial Stability Board and various industry groups, reports the Guardian. 

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) recently announced the signing of an arrangement with the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) that commits the regulators to collaborating and supporting innovative firms through each other’s financial technology (FinTech) initiatives – LabCFTC and FCA Innovate. 

The Gambling Commission has warned online gambling businesses to take immediate steps to comply with consumer protection law or face enforcement action.
